Private Code
In 2018, I was studying English to take a graduate program. When I was sitting at my desk everyday studying, constantly writing notes, it dawned on me that the shorter my pencil became, the more knowledge I absorbed.
These days, pencils are becoming less used, being replaced by technology. I wanted the pencil to remain an integral part of my studies, with the depletion of this writing tool demonstrating the wisdom I have gained.
The notes themselves, interpretations of information received through textbooks and classes, became a complicated and intricate private code, undecipherable to anyone else.
The relationship I have with the pencil represents my development and journey through life.
